Happy New Year :) { Year 1433}

This is a simple
happy New Year wish
From me to you
Wishing that happiness will
Shine in your life through and through ;)

I wish you friends that are honest and true
So that you'd never search for a clue
To know if your friend will always be there
To care
To be with you everywhere!

I wish you gifts of love
Sent from heaven above
As white as a dove
Peaceful and true
Remember .. my prayers are only meant for you

I wish you sparks of laughter
And happy things to come after
Bunch of smiles J
That would always shine
Through the miles

I wish you'd have all your dreams come true
Specially those dearest to you

In this year of fourteen, thirty three
I wish that you would become
The best that you could ever be

That you'd always remember me by
These wishes I send your way
Not to utter a sigh
Not to say goodbye
But to always pray
Whether night or day
For this humble soul
That loved you all.

Present Perfect continuous Vs. Present Perfect Simple

I have often found that students often get confused between present perfect simple and present perfect continuous.

Here is a very clear instructional video that explains the two in a wonderfully simple clear way. I really hope that my students found it useful when I played it in class few days ago ;)

And here is a slideshow dealing with these two tenses:

And here is another one explaining the present perfect simple:

To make sure that students understand these tenses well, they can go to these following sites where they can test themselves using some online exercises:

English Grammar Lessons

1st conditional videos

1st conditional  is covered in our New Headway Plus Special Edition (Pre-intermediate Level), Unit 9.

Here is a very useful video tutorial about factual conditionals in the present (first conditional). It is taken for JenniferESL channel, which is a very useful and helpful channel in learning English.

Another useful and interesting video on the 1st conditional. It points at its rule and its different uses and a song in the background to help remember the conditional.....

soooo......sing along ;)

And here is another song that uses the 1st conditional:

Do you remember that cute children song "If you're happy and you know it"?

It uses the 1st conditional, doesn't it?

Here is a cute reminder of it from the mother goose club.

Videos about The Passive voice

Passive voice is covered in our New Headway Plus Special Edition (Pre-intermediate Level) on Unit 11

Here are few videos to add some sparkle to the passive lesson ;)

A rap song that can really capture students' attention ;)

A movie segment to assess grammar goals; here it is about the passive ;)

For love of reading & improving your language (for You sweet Dua'a ^_^)

I got an email today from one of my sweet students (group 7/1432), asking me for suggestions for stories or novels to read in order to improve her language.
Of course, I was thrilled that she has this healthy lovely interest to read to improve her language.
I was actually soooo thrilled and glad that I logged on line and started to dig for anything online that could be of some help.

Here are some online stories :

(1)

A CHRISTMAS CAROL

(2)

(3)

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Caroll

Here is a site where you can find many of  :

Edgar Allan Poe's short stories (he is famous for his horror short stories)
The site even highlights some of the difficult words and you can get their meanings just by pointing your cursor, pretty useful..ha! ;)

I hope this list and this post would be useful ;)

Peace & Love
